Loose Tea From All Over the World, Made and Packed in Hamburg - Welcome to GAIWAN
GAIWAN Tea Factory offers more than 300 loose leaf teas, most of them in organic quality (DE-ÖKO-005) and a selection of handmade glass products for tea preparation and enjoyment.
Our teas are carefully packed in Hamburg, the tea capital of Europe. As far as possible, the teas are produced at the place of origin and further processed in Hamburg. We only use the best ingredients for our teas, which we carefully select.
Do you have any questions about the ingredients or preparation? The preparation instructions, number of teaspoons per litre, water temperature and infusion time are printed on the front of the packaging. For tea preparation we recommend soft filtered water or spring water. The ingredients and the origin of the tea leaves are indicated on the back of the packaging. We will be happy to answer any further questions or suggestions you may have and will be happy to get in touch with you.
If you are satisfied with our tea, please feel free to pass it on. If you are dissatisfied, please feel free to contact us and help us to improve our products and services. We want you to be satisfied and give our best for it.
Gaiwan is, by the way, a cup with a lid in which tea was made thousands of years ago, long before the invention of today's popular teapot.

- Design: This tea caddy is a real eye-catcher, which arouses the curiosity of a guest and invites him to enjoy tea together. The tea caddy is 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) in diameter, 8 inches (20 cm) in total height including the lid. A practical volume of 34 fl oz (1 L) is well suited for 0.5 lbs (250 g) to 2.2 lbs (1 kg) loose leaf tea, depending on the volume of the tea leaves and other ingredients. The empty weight of the tea tin is 1.4 lbs (650 g).
- Light Protection: The dark glass provides enough light protection so that the beautiful glass tea caddy is predestinated to decorate your tea corner instead of being hidden in a dark cupboard. With its reflective black glass surface and silver lettering, the tea caddy adapts to any environment by reflecting its surroundings.
- Protection Of Flavours: The screw lid closes the tea caddy airtight. Using a special inlay, the screw lid ensures that the tea remains flavourful and fresh for much longer. There is no need for an additional which is usual with tin tea caddies.
- Safety And Purity: The empty glass tea caddy is delivered sealed. When you get your package, you may simply open the caddy and fill the tea immediately, without rinsing and drying it beforehand. The glass tea caddy has neither seams nor bent edges of a regular tin caddy where tea leaves and dust may accumulate. The glass canister without the lid is dishwasher safe. The chemical resistance of the glass tea caddy has been certified according to ISO 719:1985.
- Labeling: The empty tea caddy is labeled with a beautiful silver colour. A detachable label is available separately so that you can cover the tea name after changing the contents. The tea caddy can be personalised as a gift in a separate offer. But also this tea caddy in combination with the separately available tea is perfect as a gift for a tea lover.

This tea strainer is made of fine stainless steel sheet. The openings are so fine that the smallest tea leaves are retained. The large volume of the tea strainer allows each tea leaf to unfold freely. This allows the water to better wash around the tea leaf, releasing more flavor from the tea leaf.
In terms of size, the tea strainer is perfectly adapted for the PURE550 tea glass. Without an additional handle, it fits perfectly on the rim of the glass and can be easily removed by the edge. The thin sheet only slightly conducts heat, so the edge of the handle can be comfortably picked up safely with fingers even when the tea is hot.
The tea strainer is dishwasher-proof and looks like new after each rinse cycle. The flat sheet is also much easier to clean than a braided strainer.

Caffeine is not for everyone. While small amounts are quite beneficial to health, too much caffeine can lead to circulatory problems and insomnia. There are also people who cannot tolerate caffeine at all or should avoid it for medical reasons, such as pregnancy.
We have a decaffeinated Earl Grey in our assortment for all those who want to experience the full taste of a good tea without the stimulating effect. The black tea from Ceylon is freed from caffeine in a gentle carbon dioxide steam process without losing its characteristic taste. Our special Earl Grey flavor blend, consisting of at least 90% bergamot oil and subtle notes of tangerine and lemon, gives you the full, unadulterated Earl Grey experience.
Ideal to introduce even the youngest to this delicious tea variety.
