Welcome to the world of modern tea ceremony.

Loose Tea with Licorice

Licorice is one of the oldest known remedies. The liquorice root was already mentioned in the oldest known work on medicinal plants. In addition, liquorice is also obtained from the root and is extremely sweet, which is why liquorice is also popular as a sugar substitute in Germany. Tea with liquorice thus acquires a fine liquorice note. Many of our organic teas contain liquorice, such as our Ayurveda Vata or this relaxation tea. Of course, we also offer pure licorice root tea in organic quality.

This is Why Liquorice is Healthy

Licorice is considered one of the most researched medicinal plants. It can be bought in pharmacies as strong liquorice and can also be found in health food shops, organic food shops and larger supermarkets in a wide variety of products.

Licorice is recommended for colds and flu, gastrointestinal complaints, viral infections and problems with the area of the mouth and throat. It is a speciality that liquorice has been shown to fight viruses. Most foods only have an antibacterial effect. The active ingredient behind it is the so-called glycyrrhizin, which is also responsible for the sweet taste. Korean researchers at Chosun University were able to prove in a study that this active ingredient was able to render various flu viruses harmless, including otherwise resistant viruses. You can read more about the different areas of application under this link.

Many medicines for irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers and other gastrointestinal problems contain liquorice root, as it has a calming and anti-inflammatory effect on them. A good, hot cup of liquorice root tea is therefore a good idea in any case. Cheers.
