A practical volume of 34 fl oz (1 L) is well suited for 0.5 lbs (250 g) to 2.2 lbs (1 kg) loose leaf tea, depending on the volume of the tea leaves and other ingredients. The empty weight of the tea tin is 1.4 lbs (650 g).
